Years ago, Tramaine learned that a number of her friends and family members had been a victim of sexual abuse. Upon this revelation, Tramaine wondered who they had to turn to? How were they coping? What did the people in their lives do to help? etc. These questions led Tramaine on a writing journey which birthed Unheard.
Director/Producer:
Knowing that sexual abuse is an issue that plagues our community, Jasmine was immediately moved to work on Unheard. She felt that this issue needed to be brought to the forefront through powerful performances and shocking visuals.
DP/Producer:
After hearing that this subject hit close to home, Ashanti wanted to find a way to speak out against sexual abuse; She wanted people to listen, pay attention and feel affected in a way that would prompt action. After being approached to work on the film Unheard, Ashanti knew that this project was the perfect way to visually speak up and speak out!
